Applying to initial vocational qualifications and TUVA education

The joint application procedure for comprehensive education graduates in the spring is held annually through Studyinfo. The next joint application round takes place on 17 February – 17 March 2026.

The joint application process is mainly for those who have completed comprehensive school and do not have a previous qualification.

Stadin AO’s application options include:

• initial vocational qualifications and
• preparatory education for an upper secondary qualification, TUVA.

There are no entrance exams or aptitude tests for the joint application programmes. If necessary, the applicant is invited for a Finnish language test.

Finnish language skills required

If necessary, we will assess your Finnish language skills. Most of the studies for Stadin AO’s qualifications are in Finnish. Only the Initial Vocational Qualification in Tourism Industry is available in English.

The results published on 11 June 2026

The results of the joint application will be published on 11 June 2026.

• Stadin AO will send an admission message to all those who are accepted on 11 June 2026 at the earliest.
• The waiting list positions will be valid until 14 August 2026.
• The studies of new initial vocational qualification students will mainly begin in the beginning of August 2026. Details about the start time and location will be provided in the admission message and on the Finnish-language page Lisätietoa yhteishaussa opiskelemaan valituille.
• The studies of new TUVA students will begin in August 2026.
